A Canvas Card

Just thinking the other day, we make Canvas Scrapbook pages so how about a Canvas Card, so I tried it!

I used two canvases that you buy at your craft center, not the ones that are framed with the stretcher bars, just the canvases (usually they come in a pack of 1/2 a dozen) I used the 5 x 7.

Then I glued some random pieces of ribbon and I found these cute little burlap stickers for extra texture.

I covered it all with Gesso which is a primer to excepting paint.
It comes in clear and white, get the white to make it all one color.
Like anything that get's wet, it lifts, you can prevent some of the lifting by sticking it down in the spots but I actually like the lifting because it adds more texture.
I sprayed both pieces with Heidi Swapp Color Shine but you can use any paint you mist on, like glimmer mist's or distress inks...
I also sprayed my flowers, which started out white.

Out of a heavy weight card stock, I made a 5x7 card. sprayed it lightly with the same mist making sure I covered the scoreline because it will show.

Redline tape it or use a strong glue to glue both pieces on the card

Decorate it! I found these cute little cogs and keys & key holes and I glued on my sprayed flowers. My image is Heather's 'Pyro Lightening Buggmee', colored her with copic markers, fussy cut her out leaving a white border around her and then popped her up on dimensional dots and added these flatback pearls to her wings.
Isn't she purdy and it opens like a card.

I printed out my little journaling 'Happy Birthday' in WORD and then punched it out with a word window punch from SU.

Simple Moments

It is already a new month so I have to show you something again..and look!!
I am so proud!!! Heather has made a gorgeous new Rory digistamp, just for me and my clubmembers!! Here is Rory Catching butterflies!! isn't she adorable???
I am so fond of butterflies so my card had to be with lot's of them.
I have made a tag and in front of the tag is a kind of plateau made of a round diecut. It is part of the tag so I could make a little scene on it.
The design papaers are from Bobunny- primrose.. lovely spring colors!
I have colored the digi with my copics markers. The butterlies at the right side are from Noor!Design. I cut them in half so I could glue 2 of them at the top.
Did you see the honeycomb at the top?? Thats softboard from Dutch Doobadoo, You can paint it or just leave it the way it is.
The filmstrip(Noor! Design) I have painted a bit with gesso, just as on some other things on the tag.
The postcard is a stamp also from Noor! Design, I stamped it on the design paper, distressed it and wrinkled it a bit.
I hope you like my creation this time, and hopefully it gives you some inspiration!

If you are looking for more inspiration, maybe you can become a member of my club too!
It is a Dutch club, but we have members from other countries too.
Please take a look and who knows you like it.. We do lot's of challenges, workshops, scrap onlines,
and this time we give this digi away.. only for my clubmembers!

Precious Wings

In 2007  I began   sketching  sleeping babies  fairies.  I  toyed with the  idea of   turning  these  lil   sweethearts  into paintings.    At that time..  for me  as   an  artist,  they  were  great   sketches  but I  had  no   spark to  take  these  babies to  the  canvas.   A  client of mine  saw the   sketches   a   few  months  later and  begged  me to  add paint these.

I  began   sketching them to  canvases,  12"  x 12" to  be   exact  and  slowly  added   paint. I  would  walk  away  from them   for  a  few  hours,  even days   at a time ... unsure of  what  colors  etc. I  wanted to   add to my pieces....  and  then  one  day...  my  "mojo"   for these   kicked in!  This  collection   kept   growing over  the past  few  years   and  now   the  current  count  for my  Precious  Wings  is  27 and  growing still  to  this  day.

My  original  painting titled Dream... was the  first in my  series and  debut  in  2009.

A few  years  ago... I  turned this one into a digi stamp....  and  finally  as of  today I  added    my Dream Precious  Wings  back into  Lacy Sunshine Shoppe.

For those of you  who  would love to  see more   photos  of this  original  painting   please   check out my  EBSQ Profile Page.  Also   over the   years, I have  had merchandise  created  with my  copyrighted  painting, such  as  mugs, mousepads,  ornaments,  t-shirts and more.

I would like to  introduce you  today   to  a couple other  Precious Wings  that    I have   finally  turned into  digi stamps.

Lil Pumpkin Precious  Wings

And  Sunbell  Precious Wings.

The above  3  Precious Wings  Digital Stamps are available in my  Lacy Sunshine  Shoppe  for your  crafting  needs:)
I  hope you love them  as much  as  I do.

Have a  wonderful  day!
Hugs,
 Heather

my First posting for Lacy Sunshine

Good morning to you all, my names caroline, i'm 51 married for 31 years and have 2 grown up sons and to grandchildren. Thats enough about me. I was thrilled when Heather asked me if i would like to join the creative team, the answer was yes straight away.
I have used Monster Boo who is just such a little sweetie, She can be found Here in the Boo's section.
The markers i have used color the image are graphit pens. The frame i printed off the free Serif craftartist little monsters and then cut it out, took a bit of time but i think well worth it. I also printed a couple of backing papers from there as well. The birthday sentiment i wrote and printed off.
The flowers i made using Memory box Fabulous Phlox die and added a brad to the centers. The bow is made with wool that had been knitted and then pulled out to give it that nice crinkled look.
I look forward to bring you another creation next month, i hope this has given you a bit of inspiration, don't forget there are always challenges going on over at Lacy sunshine challenge blog.
Until next time, bye for now.

MY DEBUT POSTING FOR LACY SUNSHINE

Good morning

Today I am pleased to say that it is my debut post as a Sunshine Girl on Heather's Creative Team.
I was real excited when Heather messaged me to ask if I would like to join the team and am  looking forward to bringing you my input and inspiration each month.

My posting I would like to share with you today is using the lovely digi called Jillian and she can be found in the store HERE.

I thought i would show you what I was going to use before I put it altogether. So here are my bits and bobs all ready to get creative with.

Kanban backing cards
Spectrum Noir markers
Spellbinders dies
Stamped sentiment
Ribbon
Bling

Here is the digi all coloured in and ready to go on my assembled card.
I have red hair at the moment so I find myself colouring a lot of my digis in with red hair too

I adore the vibrancy of how the hair colouring came out.

I have tied a small pink bow, coloured a clear gem pink and added a dream silver ring to the top corner of the card

Pearl bling on a string I have glued around the top of the card using my hot glue gun.
A few small butterflies added for embellishment.
Here we have the final result. I love how it turned out - so pink so ME!!

Thanks for popping by and checking out my post today.

New Victorian Lizabeth!

It's Donna Mundinger here and I'm so excited to be debuting the new Victorian Lizabeth. I couldn't help but do something Steampunk , using the Steampunk Debutant DP's from Graphic 45.

Isn't she AMAZING?!  I've colored this beautiful gal with Copics in the rich shades of the papers.
Skin: E000, E00, E11 Lips: E04
Hair: YR14, E07, E09
Dress: BG11, BG13, BG15, BG18
She's fussy cut and popped for dimension and I've added tiny metal gears from Tim Holtz.

Here's a better view of the dimension.  I've popped the layers so I could add die cut gears (Tim Holtz for Sizzix) that I've rubbed with Rub'n Buff and embossed with Frantage.  I can see this new darling gal in a lovely vintage setting or even a much darker scene as well.  Can't wait to color her up again. Sh'es available NOW  in the New section of the Shop.
